Masonic Medal -The Hall Stone Jewel
Masonic Medals, you may ask why, when I first stated in Coins like most dealers I would buy many job lots from auction , over the counter or even when out and about seeing other dealers, I kept seeing Buffalo "masonic" medals on a regular period then one day some thing different, a Freemasons medal and that kick started a long interest into Freemasonry and the items which were of a more interesting field.this was one of the items I found in London just before it was to be sent to the melting pot. The Hall Stone Jewel is a significant Masonic commemorative medal from the Masonic Million Memorial Fund (1920s), honoring Freemasons lost in World War I (1914-18) by symbolizing sacrifice (cross, dates) and peace (winged figure with a temple), awarded to donors and lodges, with specific versions for Masters (Hall Stone Lodges) and Provinces/Districts, representing commitment to the Fraternity and remembrance.
